Answer: It is best to leave the seeds to soak for up to 24 hours before moving on to the next step. -

My dwarf mountain pine still has a week before it needs to go in the fridge, but there is mould on the outside of the pot - is this a bad sign?
Answer: Mold on the outside of the pot is usually harmless and caused by factors like room temperature, lack of air flow, and overwatering. You can continue with the process and move on to the next step. -
Question:
My dwarf pine seeds have sprouted after 2 weeks just in the bags does that mean I skip all the refrigerator step now?
Answer: If the seeds have already germinated during the propagation period, you can skip the refrigerator step and follow the next instructions. -

My seeds have sprouted after 10 days. Do I take them out of the bags and place them into sunlight?
Answer: Yes, you can remove the pots from the bags and provide them with gentle watering. -
Question:
On the cold stratification period - for the ones with large time frames (e.g. red maple 8-12 weeks), how do I know when they're ready to come out?
Answer: Check on the pots every 7-10 days to see if the seeds have sprouted. The cold stratification period is necessary for germination and each seed species has its own required time.
