Yondu is a liquid seasoning made from fermented soybeans and vegetable broth. Its' vegan and gluten-free. It is similar to fish sauce, but has a more delicate flavor and adds a lot of delicious & savory umami flavors to your dishes. It can be used in a 1:1 ratio to replace fish sauce in any recipe. Yondu Vegetable Essence is concentrated, so a little goes a long way. It is shelf-stable, but refrigeration is preferred. Yondu has no total carbohydrates, and its serving suggestion is 1 tsp of Yondu per 2 cups cooked rice. Yondu is certified organic, vegan and gluten-free, and the 5.1 Fl oz and 9.3 Fl oz bottles are in glass, while the 28 Fl oz bottle is in a PET plastic bottle. Customers who reviewed the product found the flavor to be light and healthy compared to soy sauce, and great on meat and veggies. Some found it to be concentrated, but diluting it with water worked well. The product arrived promptly, securely packed in its own box. Customers also loved the idea of using it mostly on soups and pasta while getting creative and marinating pork chops using it. However, some customers would prefer a lower sodium version.
