Answer: There are buckles on the stirrups, but they are on the outside of the gaiters. These are good gaiters. -

I'm going to be hiking on sand dunes - would these prevent sand from going in my shoes?
Answer: They will not. Having hiked on dunes at least 15 times, I can tell you nothing short of rubber waders will keep the sand out of your shoes. Plan on taking your shoes and socks off after the hike and shaking all the sand out. -

Would be expedient if you just included a size chart instead of making customers jump through hoops to see if the circumference will work for them !
Answer: I wondered the same thing when I bought mine! I am a slender six foot and I bought large and that worked for me. -

Which gaiters are for large calves?
Answer: I got a size small. My calves are small. They fit fairly snug. I don’t recommend this size for large calves. I’m 5’2, and 125lbs.
