ClearClick Slide & Negative Scanners Editorial Review
The ClearClick Film To Digital Converter is a decent product that is concise, intuitive and effortless to use. The scanner is compatible with 35mm negatives and slides that are in a standard 50mm mount. It saves the digital image in JPEG format and requires an SD card to store the scans. The converter supports the use of class 4 to 10 SD cards with an upper limit that is yet to be determined. However, it is advisable to use cards formatted in the MSDOS (FAT32 or ExFAT, for >32GB) partition scheme. The output resolution of the scanned images come in a choice of 14 or 22 megapixels. Feedback from customers shows that the converter works faster when scanning black and white negatives compared to colour negatives. Customers have mixed feelings about the clarity of the images, however, the majority agree that clarity is reasonable. The converter is also lightweight, which some customers find unimpressive at the price point it is sold for. Despite some shortcomings, the scanner is an excellent choice for family digitization needs. And if you are willing to use a photo editing software to make some minor adjustments, you can get reasonably clear and detailed images from old slides and negatives.
