Trimaco’s X-Board is a remodeling variant of floor protector paper, a good choice if you are in a situation where you need a quick solution for painting. It is half the price of the typical Ram Board but not as strong, less thick and less strong thus less durable. However, it is ideal for painters and will protect your new flooring from a small spill and is easy to take up. It can be used on stairs, but it would need to be creased to conform and taped with blue or green tape to keep it in position. It is thicker than standard red rosin paper and can last for several weeks with a few foot traffic. The tape is pricey but made for the job. Trimaco’s X-Board is not food grade, but it is recyclable, depending on what paint or materials it comes into contact with.
