Eric Johnson Format: Vinyl Today's Country LP-NW-5214 Editorial Review
**** The release of Eric Johnson's live performance from the iconic Austin City Limits has excitable fans buzzing after years of anticipation. This DVD captures a remarkable set from an artist revered for his virtuoso guitar skills and emotive songwriting. Reviewers are thrilled to finally have a polished version of this historic performance, which stands out as one of Johnson’s best sets, showcasing his incredible talent from the Ah Via Musicom era. The audio and video quality have received high marks, especially Considering the original footage was recorded in 1988. Many fans noted the sound production as impressive, with DTS and PCM stereo options that enhance the listening experience. However, some viewers expressed disappointment in the absence of additional content such as interviews or alternate takes that would have added depth to the experience. One reviewer specifically lamented the missing fiery ending of the song "Zap" which they vividly remember from the original TV broadcast. Despite these minor grievances concerning content richness and variations, the overwhelming Consensus remains positive, with fans giving five-star ratings and recommending this album to anyone unfamiliar with Johnson’s remarkable oeuvre. For both newcomers and longtime followers of Eric Johnson, this DVD is heralded as a cherished addition to any music collection, promising to enchant with its stellar live recording and impressive musicianship. **Pros and Cons:** **
