What particles does the Filtrete Allergen Defense Air Filter capture?
Answer: It captures varying sizes of particles such as lint, pollen, dust, smoke, pet dander and smog. -
Question:
How often should I change the filter?
Answer: For optimal performance, change your home air filter at least every 90 days for 1 in. filters, and at least every 12 months for 4 in. and 5 in. filters. -
Question:
What happens if I don't change my filter?
Answer: A dirty filter will slow down air flow and make the system work harder to keep you warm or cool, wasting energy. -
Question:
Does it fit Space Guard 2200?
Answer: The actual filter size is 19 15/16 24 5/8 x 4 3/8 Inches. You may need to measure your filter intake opening to verify the size will fit. -
Question:
How often should this filter be changed under normal conditions?
Answer: Changing the filter has a lot to do with the environment in which you live, I live in West Texas where the air is very dry but very dusty. So I change mine every 3 to 4 months. if you live where you have a lot of pollen you may need to changes your just as often. Its very important to visually inspect your filter once a month in area with heavy dust or pollen. Hold it up to the light and if you can see light it should be good but the harder it it is to see light through you may want to change it out. a good clean filter will also allow your AC and furnace to run more efficient. -

Do these merv 11 filters have enough air flow for any furnace?

Why are all these 16x25x4 filters smaller than the package label? None fit our furnace properly!
Answer: We have 2 different size filters for this model. All our filters will show the actual size on the filter as well the nominal size. The standard width on our Filtrete 4" deep pleat filters is 4-5/16" thick. We do offer a smaller "slim fit" version of this filter as well. The actual size on this is 3-3/4" thick and will say "slim fit" on the filter in red. We apologize for any confusion. We recommend measuring the actual size of your opening first, then choosing which filter will fit best in your system. Is this size to fit Honeywell Trion Air Bear only (says that on packaging) or will it also fit a carrier unit...seems to big (tight) for carrier
Answer: Should fit any brand of unit. Filters are universal as long as you buy the correct size of filter. We have a Trane and it fits perfectly.
